Dan Haltenhof is the founder and managing partner of the Haltenhof Law Group, LC. Dan concentrates his practice in the areas of DWI/Drunk Driving Defense, Criminal Defense, Family Law, Complex Driver’s Licensing Matters and Personal Injury.

Dan represents individuals charged with Felony, Misdemeanor, and Municipal DWI and other criminal charges in St. Louis County, Jefferson County, and St. Charles County. Dan has extensive knowledge with treatment courts, diversion programs, and other creative alternatives to resolve your case. Dan’s work in alternate treatment options is so extensive that in 2016, in order to combat the inequity of those facing 10 year denials of their driving privilege, Dan with the assistance of the Honorable Barbara Wallace created the “Special Limited Driving Privilege Track” under the St. Louis County DWI Court. The Limited Driving Privilege Track provided a path for citizens willing to complete extensive alcohol treatment to secure limited driving privileges in specific situations.

Dan’s work in family law includes Divorce, Motions to Modify, prosecution and defense of Orders of Protection, and Paternity matters in St. Louis County, Jefferson County, and St. Charles County. Dan represents both men and women in all areas of family law practice, and provides counsel on ways to resolve family law matters in the most efficient and effective ways to benefit his client. Dan also litigates child support modifications, and well as contempt matters and enforcement actions.

Dan has been actively involved with the Missouri Bar Solo and Small Firm Committee. In 2011, Dan was awarded the prestigious Missouri Bar President’s Award for his leadership and meritorious service to the Missouri Bar. Dan has served as Chair of the Solo and Small firm Committee in both 2010 and 2011. Under Dan’s leadership, the annual Solo and Small Firm Conference saw record attendance and the advancement of national presenters and topics. In 2013, Dan was also awarded The Missouri Bar Solo and Small Firm Distinguished Service Award. Dan’s commitment to his community and the Bar at large has allowed him to develop meaningful contacts with attorneys and judges throughout the state of Missouri.

Dan graduated from St. Louis University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, a Master’s in Business Administration, and his J.D. (Law Degree). During his third year in Law School, Dan was nominated for the Pro Bono Legal Service Award for extensive work in helping the Castlewood neighborhood organize, secure 501(c)(3) status, and secure funding for neighborhood stabilization and community programs.
